The new ‘K’ is here to stay!

The new Maruti Suzuki Zen Estilo comes with a power packed K-series “K10B” engine. This three cylinder 998 cc new addition is one of the most peculiar characteristics of this new tall boy hatchback. The engine brings a higher torque of 90 Nm@ 3500rpm and a power of 68 PS@6200 rpm. This improved new engine technology gives more boost and low noise and vibrations.
 
K10B engine comes with offset crank and Double Overhead Cam shaft or DOCH. The engine is much lighter and thus increases the fuel efficiency of Zen Estilo. The company promises an excellent mileage of 18.2 kmpl. Technological wonders like high compression ratio and Smart Distributor-less ignition or SDli lowers the running cost of this baby as the engine necessities a change after at least 10,000km.

The new Zen Estilo is one car that is bestowed with one of the best environment friendly features as compared to its other counterparts, courtesy the K-series engine. The engine enables Maruti Zen Estilo to be BSIV complaint. Its 89% of the parts meets the ELV norms and are environment friendly. Maruti Suzuki is already prepared to take on the forth coming norms of 10% Ethanol blending of petrol and has made the new model already an E-10 compliant.

With the new K-series engine and innovative transmission technology, the new Zen Estilo is a perfect blend of power, pleasure and economy. Zen Estilo uses Cable type transmission technology. This technology reduces the mechanical losses as the gear shifting effort is reduced tremendously. The new technology also eradicates line contact between parts and offers point contact thus making the change of gear a smooth operation. This is the first time that Maruti has used this technology in any of its models.
